However shocking it may be to hear celebrities, and "friends of O.J.", say, "No, I can't believe that he did it. He's always been nice to me.", they must be forgetting about the police photos of a battered Nicole Brown Simpson, and the 911 tapes of her screaming, while hiding behind a door, fearing that O.J. would break in and beat the sh*t out of her. With a domestic violence rate close to 1 MIL/year, and the circus-like publicity surrounding the O.J. Simpson murder trial, the temporary awareness of domestic violence victims and their plight is a bittersweet "success". And, unfortunately, it takes this type of ridiculous circumstance -- a crime that occurs every 8 seconds -- for us to realize things MUST change.
